Join us on this epic trip with Alma Rosa Winery and your host, Winemaker Samra Morris, to explore the sights and tastes of Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina.

Samra has worked closely with Wine Lovers Travel to create an itinerary that highlights her birthplace of Bosnia, as well as the surrounding countries she knows so well. She can’t wait to bring you along to places that are so special to her heart.

We’ll start in Bosnia, which combines a warm and contemporary vibe with an abundance of medieval ruins, unique towns and cities, stunning mountains, waterfalls, and rivers! We’ll visit the places that shaped Samra’s winemaking talents, as well as natural sites that showcase the beauty of the country. Then, we’ll head to Croatia, where we’ll visit numerous wineries while experiencing Croatian culture and sampling its unique cuisine.

Day 1 – May 19, 2026
Welcome to Sarajevo!

Welcome to Sarajevo! Meet your driver upon your arrival at the airport and transfer to your hotel to check in and relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may want to acquaint yourself with the city. Take a stroll from the hotel along the Miljacka River. Pay attention to the variety of architectural styles, from modern skyrise buildings to Austro-Hungarian grandeur, to the Ottoman-era shops and restaurants nestled in the old quarter known as Baščaršija. In the evening, you’ll meet up with your group and tour leader to enjoy a welcome dinner featuring local Sarajevo specialties in The Four Rooms of Mrs. Safija and discuss the upcoming week! We will be staying at the lovely Hotel President* or similar during our time in Sarajevo.

 

Day 2 – May 20, 2026
Sarajevo

This morning we’ll start with breakfast at the hotel and then take off on a private half-day tour of Sarajevo! Our guided tour takes you on a journey through time – from the Ottomans to Austro-Hungarian rule to Tito’s Sarajevo and the city’s recent, sad past. You’ll not only hear about the city’s history and visit its most important sights, such as the old Basar or the assassination site of Archduke Franz Ferdinand – you’ll also learn a lot about the traditions and different cultures that shaped and still shape this place, and learn how people live here today.

On your walk, meet a traditional Baklava maker who is the last one to prepare Dzandar-Baklava – a Sarajevo specialty that takes three days to make – and watch a 4th-generation coppersmith at work. We end our tour with a tasting of local meats and cheeses at a local marketplace. After that, we go for a Bosnian coffee where you can ask your guide all the questions you might still have and learn about the Bosnian life philosophy ćejf. You’ll have some free time to go back to your favorite stops or Baščaršija in the afternoon hours, while the evening is reserved for a visit to Hedona Boutique Winery to enjoy a 7-course food and wine dinner, including a tour of the cellars. Day 3 – May 21, 2026
Lukomir Village

After breakfast, make your way to Lukomir, the loneliest village of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located almost 1,500 meters above sea level. Its semi-nomadic inhabitants still live off the land and agriculture, like they did hundreds of years ago.

Upon arrival, follow your guide through the small village inhabited by 15 families, meet locals, visit the village mosque, marvel at the medieval tombstones of the Bosnian church and enjoy the view down into the second-deepest canyon of Europe. After the 45-minute tour, a snack of Uštipci and some mountain tea is waiting for you at “Na Krovu Svijeta” – on top of the world in a traditional, rustic restaurant. You can enjoy another hour of leisure time after lunch to stroll through the village, hike along the Rakitinica canyon for a little bit of just sit down and enjoy the peaceful village atmosphere.

Around 1:00 PM, we leave Lukomir and make our way to Javorov Do for lunch. Here, guests can enjoy traditional Bosnian dishes such as pita, teletina ispod sač, and more.

Arrival back in Sarajevo should be around 6 PM. It’s our last evening in Sarajevo, enjoy it!

 

Day 4 – May 22, 2026
Emporia Winery and Hotel

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, then meet your driver in the hotel lobby. We will continue our journey towards the Emporia vineyards. Emporia Wine and Dine Hotel is nestled in the scenic landscape of the western Balkans near Mostar and its iconic arched bridge. The hotel is quickly establishing itself as an emerging European treasure. This boutique retreat is a haven for wine-lovers, food enthusiasts and travelers seeking an enjoyable yet refined getaway.

After lunch and wine tasting, relax and explore this beautiful property. Overnight in the Emporia Hotel 4*, double room.

 

Day 5 – May 23, 2026
Mostar

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we meet our driver for a short ride to Mostar. Upon arrival, we will meet with our local guide. Discover the rich history and East-meets-West charm of Mostar on a guided walking tour. Stroll through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, marvel at the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), and explore cobbled streets lined with Ottoman-era architecture, artisan shops, and vibrant cafés. Learn about the city’s multicultural heritage and its resilience through time from your local guide.

This afternoon, you have free time for lunch on your own and the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, we’ll meet up for dinner and explore Mostar at night.

Day 6 – May 24, 2026
Brač Island

Have breakfast at the hotel and check out, then meet your driver for a scenic transfer from Mostar to Split. Upon arrival, board the ferry for a relaxing journey to beautiful Brač Island. A short drive brings you to the picturesque harbor town of Sutivan, where you’ll check into the luxurious, adults-only Hotel Lemongarden – a tranquil oasis surrounded by lush Mediterranean gardens and stone villas.

Later this afternoon, regroup for a delightful local wine tasting experience — the perfect introduction to the flavors of Brač.

Day 7 – May 25, 2026
Pakleni Islands

Breakfast at the hotel, then get ready to enjoy a private speedboat excursion to the Pakleni Islands. Yourcaptain will make sure you have an unforgettable experience and a fully customized private tour. Pakleni Islands, a group of 20 islets and reefs, is a famous excursion site and an attractive resting place in Croatia. One of the most beautiful bays is on the islet Klement, where a beach and a nautical marina, Palmizana. Here you will find natural beauties: fragrant exotic plants, beautiful sandy beaches with a shallow bottom, and some of the most beautiful underwater diving locations. Also, there are a couple of restaurants in the beautiful bays in which you can always eat good, fresh fish. Lunch will be organized in one of those restaurants, a perfect opportunity to get more familiar with the traditional way of wining and dining in Dalmatia.

After the tour, we’ll head back to our hotel and enjoy our farewell dinner together!

 

Day 8 – May 26, 2026
Bon Voyage / Sretan Put!

After breakfast, sadly, it’s time to say goodbye. It will be time to check out and we’ll catch a ferry back to Split where our bus will be waiting for us. The bus can drop you off at the Split airport or a nearby hotel if you are staying longer.
